A label pasted to the back says "This board from the historic Brittain house, Saugatuck, Mich., built around 1865, razed 1967." "D. Zinke" is scratched in the back of the board. The plaque has a round, metal hanger screwed into the top and a sawtooth picture hanger nailed to the back. The wood board has original insect damage and knots plus gauges likely added to enhance the antique appearance.
