99. The Lion House
A village landmark, the original house was a folk-Gothic farmhouse built about 1867, with tall gables looking out over a pleasant lawn. The house got its name from a set of large lion sculptures at its street entrance. The house was given a Colonial Revival update and additions by a new owner in the 1930s — at the same time the adjacent carriage house (with a ballroom) was converted into a separate residence.
