41. Peterson Nature Preserve

Location: Simonson Drive (east of Holland Street), Saugatuck
Date: 2000 to present

The control pond for Moore’s Creek, upstream of the Peterson Grist Mill, is a gathering place for herons, ducks, swans and other wildlife. The 10-acre property was given by the Peterson family to the City of Saugatuck and dedicated in the spring of 2000 as the Mildred A. Peterson Nature Preserve.
