from Cora Bliss Taylor "Cody's World" exhibit, Aug 2019 at the OSH Apple Tree c.1945 | Mixed media collage Creator: Cora Bliss Taylor In Apple Tree, Cora Bliss Taylor diverts from her usual brightly colored palette to work with dark colors. The diagonal trunk anchors the informal composition. The drab colors of the trunk and leaves are made up of combinations of reds and greens. The artwork shows her interest in artistic experimentation using collage. The mixed media assemblage of torn paper and paint includes paper apples and leaves applied to the surface.
