Koning Monarch Paint sign

Wooden plank sign with edging board. The front of the sign is painted black with the text "Monarch Paint" in yellow letters, "100% pure" in white letters. A central, circular logo depicts a hand and a paint brush dripping with red paint and includes the text "The Martin-Senour Co. Trade Mark Reg. Every Drop 100% Pure". The bottom of the sign has a "sold by" white oval that was used to customized the sign for the local paint dealer.

Koning & Son Hardware-customized sign created sometime between 1911, when John Koning sold his business to his sons, and before 1920, when he retired, and the business became Koning Hardware. Item was reported by Ron Wilkins (via James Faasen) to have been found "on the bottom of the burn pile" at Wilkins Hardware.
