Letter from Grace L. Taylor, proprietor of Lake Ridge Farm on Lake Shore Road in Douglas to Lewis L. Thompson of Allegan Michigan on September 30, 1915 explaining that she had discharged her duties as executor (executrix!) of the Hattie P. Mills estate and was not involved in the estate of Hanna P. Mills.
The letter is handwritten in ink on beige letterhead.
Also the Executrix check book from the Fruit Growers State Bank with 10 stubs showing estate expenses paid out from June 17, 1915 to Aug. 11, 1915

The two staples that hold the check in the cover are rusting. The top layer of check stubs and check are yellowed, except for an interesting ghost image of Miss Talyor's name that was written on the inside cover. The unused checks are in fine condition. The binding of the checkbook cover, especially the interior fabric tapes are breaking at stress points.
