Blue Star Bridge construction movie
Archive
DVD of a 13-minute, b/w movie (with no sound other than a swinging jazz music) that shows the construction of the Blue Star Highway bridge from the pouring of the footings, the metal spans, a diver being prepared to do underwater inspections, steel beams brought in on a large barge, the decks being poured and finally the new, modern bridge.
Edited by Erin K. Wilkinson, the movie uses footage from L.W. Lamb Inc., the company contracted to built the bridge in 1936 as a Michigan Federal Aid project.
