Old School House Garden; Oil Painting of the Old School House Garden by Anne Corlett In the Summer of 2017, Anne Corlett participated in a special event gathering at the Old Schoolhouse, where she created the “Old Schoolhouse Garden” oil painting while the public watched her paint. At the time Anne promised to eventually give the painting to the History Center. In the fall of 2020, Anne kept her promise and presented the painting to the Saugatuck Douglas History Center for our permanent collection.

Anne Corlett active artist Anne Corlett earned her B.F.A. from University of Wisconsin and continued her studies at the School of the Art Institute of Chicago, Royal Academy of Art in London, Kalamazoo Institute of Art, and Ox-Bow. Old School House Garden (2017) In the summer of 2017, Anne Corlett participated in a "plein air" event at the History Center, where she created this work in the gardens while the public watched her paint.
