Lost Rock of Douglas Beach
Photograph
A very large rock, etched with initials and graffiti, sits on the beach with Lake Michigan in the background. This is the famous "Lost Rock" that appears and disappears as lake levels rise and fall and the contours of the beach shift. It is possible multiple rocks that have appeared south of the Douglas Beach have worn the Lost Rock title.
The writing on the negative suggest this may have been a Simonson photo.
Also included in this entry are multiple, low-resolution images of the lost rock copied from the Jack Sheridan Drive.
