Unknown Carl Bird Boat Builder undated | watercolor on paper Notes: This delightful watercolor was given to the Saugatuck-Douglas History Center by Jane Allen, the daughter of artist, Claire Allen, who was well-known in the Saugatuck Douglas area. It was found among Claire’s papers, but is unlikely her work. The unsigned painting is typical of watercolor work done in the Saugatuck Douglas area in the mid-20th century. The scene is the boat shop of Carl Bird which once existed at the north end of downtown Saugatuck. Collection: Saugatuck Douglas History Center Gift of: Jane Allen Accession: 2019.27.02
Notes: Painting was donated by the Jane Allen from the collection of Claire Allen family. (no paperwork available) Status: OK Status By: Mary Voss Status Date: 2019-08-19
