Organized by local merchant or business groups, Saugatuck's holiday parade engaged the local citizenry and drew visitors in the off season for holiday shopping and events. Some years were merrier than others. Multiple readers of Facebook Saugatuck Remember identified the woman in the red hat as Linda Boyce Kinnaman, the driver of the car as Steve Oswald. Sherry Wieland Schulz commented to Marceline Steele Phillips "these pictures were taken in the bank parking lot. In the back ground is the Methodist church. That corner is Griffith and Mason streets." Marilyn Starring wrote "Sleigh looks like city council members - back right Dave Mocini to the left Rich Crawford? Stacey Christenson Aldrich commented to Marilyn Starring "I think the woman in the sleigh looks like Trudi Engelbrecht, definitely Linda Kinnaman in the red hat."
