Kukla & Ollie by Burr Tillstrom
Object/Artifact
Burr Tillstrom, "Kukla & Ollie", 1981 - Watercolor drawing, gilt gold embossed, carved frame.
This was probably a "greeting card." Burr Tillstrom often produced small watercolors for friends to celebrate a special occasion, such as a birthday. Here, the artist wishes his friends well with the help of "Kukla" and "Ollie." Chuck and Mildred Parrot were well known Saugatuck residents.
Tillstrom, who lived part-time in Saugatuck, was a television pioneer, best known as the creator of "Kukla, Fran, and Ollie," a children's program that features puppets created by Tillstrom.
