Crow's Nest cottage and dune

The remains of a wooden structure lies slumped on a dune blowout. This image was featured as History Mystery #121 with the text: This cabin was a neat little studio before it slid down the dune. It was located on the high dune north of Oxbow overlooking the Old Harbor ca 1920.

"The Crow's Nest cottage was built by [Ox-Bow] students in the early 1930's, for a studio, some say love nest, for Thomas Tallmadge. The logs were hauled up the front face of the dune from Kelly's Beach. Tallmadge and other were known to shoot crows out of the windows. Betsy Rupprecht was 16 [1948] the summer that the Crow's Nest toppled over and started its slide down the dune." from "A Portrait of Ox-Bow" by Judy Bowman Anthrop, 2009
