A collection of items association with the Wiegert grocery and cafe that contains:
01. Real photo postcard of full length studio portrait of a woman wearing a suit. Handwritten note on the back of the photo: "To my pals Armour [Wiegert] Helen"
02. Photo of woman wearing a long gown with puffy short sleeves. Note on back "Taken July - '33"
03. Handwritten 2-loaf meatloaf recipe and calculations "we" and "they" on the back of a sheet of "Douglas - A good place for home seekers" Wiegert's Grocery letterhead
04. Toll service statement for 80 cents from 1933
05. Tri-County Telephone Co. bill to Ben Weigert dated Nov. 1, 1933.
06. Ten Guest Check receipts for restaurant meals served on Aug. 8, Aug. 10, Oct. 14, and Oct. 15, in 1937 or by server number 37. Each has a hole where it was impaled on a receipt spike (also known as a dock spike, bill spike, stationery spindle, and chit peg or chit spike.) Foods served include pancakes, eggs, coffee, corn beef, orange, flakes, toast, beef din, meat din.
07. Two business-card size (2.25x3.5") Mother's Day cards, likely used to tuck into bouquets.
08. Brown paper envelope addressed to the "Dutcher Lodge,/ Mr. T.L. Gooding,/ RFD/ Fennville, Mich." In the return address section it reads "After 5 Days Return To/ Fruit Growers State Bank/ Saugatuck, Mich." Postmarked from Saugatuck on Jan 2, 1934.
