Book pages filled with handwritten messages of affection. The well-worn pages have been removed from their binding.
The earliest entry is marked Singapore and dated 1839.
In Hamilton, 1841, Franklin Skinner entered a three-stanza poem "Remember me"
On Feb. 2, 1850, Eliza Loomis entered a poem that begins "Let Virtues Path Enclose the Round"
On Oct. 24, 1862, Sarah E. Evants(?) of Ganges wrote "To Mrs. Loomis, An album is a garden spot, in which I place, 'forget me not.' Your true friend."
An undated entry is signed Isaac Skinner.
The last entry, titled "On Friendship," is dated 1891.

The sentimental well-wishes on the pages track the social courtesies of an area pioneer from her arrival as a young bride in Singapore in 1839 to her establishment of a prosperous farm in Ganges. The last entry was made after Mrs. Loomis' death in 1889, suggesting the family carried on the tradition

The good quality paper, though battered, stained and torn, is still amazingly sound. The ink used to write the messages is, sadly, fading.
