As a child, she learned about the “construction” of the land from an uncle who was a glacial geologist. Larsen graduated magna cum laude with her Bachelor of Arts from Michigan State University. She went on to study art at the Kalamazoo Institute of the Arts and at Hope College. Fran Larsen presently lives in New Mexico, where she is still an active artist.
