Blue arcade exhibit cards
Object/Artifact
Six "girlie" cards from the 1940s found in the wall of the Norton Cottage. The cottage was originally at Singapore and later moved to an area near the vineyards south of M89. Printed with blue ink on cardboard with blank backs. "Made in U.S.A" appears in front lower right corner of each card.
The cards were likely manufactured by the Exhibit Supply Co. of Chicago for purchase from their penny arcade machines. Arcade cards were first created by the Exhibit Supply Company in 1901 and ended in 1981. The cards featured promotional photos of popular movie stars, prize fighters, baseball players, superheros, cowboy-western stars and even some more risqué offerings.
