"Anhousen" may be Anhausen is municipality in the Rheinland, a western state of Germany. In the letter Snay recounts lice in the trenches, being billeted with a German family, and comments that Saugatuck was relatively unscathed by the "Spanish" flu.

Page 1 Anhousen, Feb 4 1919 Dear H.E., How are you getting on these days? I hope you have a warmer job than we have over here. For the last two weeks we have been on the range (lange?) and this week we are back to the old squads right and left again. A couple of weeks ago I wrote home and told them of the swell weather we were having here which was all O.K. but she trak? a reverse and it is pretty crisp out of doors now.
