A bound volume of records from the Pioneer Society of Allegan County, State of Michigan. Spine of book has leather with gold lettering identifying book as Records from the Pioneer Society of Allegan County from Kalamazoo Publishing Company. Inside are handwritten minutes from 1875 to 1903 of meetings discussing the history of Allegan County leading up to the Centennial and beyond. The first meeting was held September 8, 1875 at the Allegan County Fairgrounds. Officers were elected and a constitution was written. A list of vice presidents (from each township) is listed on page 2.

Page 1, 1875: In pursuance and in accordance with an act of the legislature approved April 25, 1873 notice is here by given that there will be a meeting of the pioneers of Allegan County at the fairgrounds in the village of Allegan on Wednesday afternoon September 29, 1875 for the purpose of organizing a county pioneer society in pursuance with the act above specified.
