The race was completed in 12 hours, 40 minutes. The previous best time was 20 hours, 14 minutes. A local and contemporary shipbuilder, founded in 1974, Douglas Skater powerboats are manufactured by Douglas Marine Corporation, 6780 Enterprise Drive in Douglas, Michigan. Each boat is custom built.
