DescriptionPhotographic exhibit #11 from legal complaint filed on June 20, 1967 in Allegan County by plaintiffs Walter and Elizabeth Coburn, [proprietors of the Ship 'N Shore Hotel/Motel/Boatel] vs. defendant Kalamazoo Ferry Company [Peterson] about the trimming of vegetation and installation of pilings by the eastern Chain Ferry landing. Yellow Plaintiff's Exhibit sticker on back of photo is dated 3-26-68. This is a reprint of a historic photo of Saugatuck's riverfront. It does not show Saugatuck in the mid-'60s. The photo shows the riverfront as seen from Mt. Baldhead. Many ships of many sizes are docked along the shore. The Big Pavilion has no contrasting trim except around the windows. Beyond the island between the bridges is visible.
