Main Street, Douglas

Photo of the business district on south side of Center Street between Spring and Main. Nearest to the camera is the 2-story brick Kerr Building with a handwritten note in the print "10 cent store". The next single-story building to the east is a "Dr. Office," then a store, then the "Central Store, an empty lot with a very small shed, a narrow building with a Bell Telephone sign, and last on the block is a "Meat Market." A horse or mule, hitched to an open buggy, is waiting in the street. The unpaved street is lined with a sidewalk and telephone/electric poles. The business in the Kerr building has a sign in the window for ice cream.

As of 2019, only the buildings at both ends of the block still exist as the Button Gallery and Everyday People Cafe. The Kerr building has lost its decorative cornice. The 23 and 25 West Center buildings at mid block are twin 2-story brick retail/residential buildings flanking a central alley to a parking lot in back. Everyday People has expanded into the building to its east.
