Hames-Houtkamp/Houtcamp collection

2025.09.12

George W. Hames was a carpenter who lived on Griffith Street with his spouse Martha and their children Almon, George N., Mattie and Ada. His daughter Ada married Charles Edwin Houtkamp (1877-1977) (sometimes spelled Houtcamp) in 1899 or 1898. Census records indicate Charles E. Houtkamp lived in Milwaukee with his spouse Ada, their children Adlyn (Houtkamp) Bosman (1901-1990), George and Charles E., and Charles' parent Adrian Houtkamp in 1930. An additional child Paul Hames Houtkamp (1903-1987) is listed on Ada's findagrave.com page. Souvenir photos of the children taken in Saugatuck indicates the Charles Houtkamp family visited their Saugatuck kin.
