Ritchie Compass #37667

Metal, gimbaled compass manufactured by E. S. Ritchie & Sons of Boston. The crystal covering the compass face is smeared or marred. The black paint is worn off the bottom of compass. The gimbal is functional but the compass' case (often a wooden box) or stand is missing. According to the manufacturer (contacted by Eric Gollannek in 2018) the instrument was sold to H.D. Edwards & Company on December 16, 1909.
