Saugatuck Woman’s Club showcases the history of art at the Lakeshore

The Saugatuck Woman’s Club, founded in 1904, will host a free lecture highlighting the history of art at the Lakeshore. The Club has been the recipient of beautiful artworks since its earliest days, and its 1930s Thomas Eddy Talmadge-designed building on Hoffman Street now boasts an impressive collection of paintings adorning its auditorium walls.

Art curator and historian Ken Kutzel will discuss some of these treasures, the people who painted them, why they are important, and how they ended up hanging at the Woman’s Club.
