Mary Porter Taylor was the hard-working and long-suffering wife of James Franklin Taylor, who served as the pastor of the First Congregational Church of Saugatuck from 1868 to 1877. For this Tuesday Talk, Toni Perrine will examine two letters Mary wrote to her sister, Harriet Porter Mills, to unpack the news Mary shared with her sister and create a snapshot of a woman’s life during this transitional period in the history of Saugatuck, the state and the nation.

This week’s Tuesday Talk is sponsored by business sponsor Osman’s Flowers and Firs and SDHC members Chris and Karen Clark
