About the Event
Cost: $10
For the second year, the History Center will transform itself with lighting and decorations into a spooktacular destination to socialize and party before the Douglas Halloween Parade for Adults.
The parade is an annual extravaganza of creativity in costuming and performing arts. Some folks spend months developing characters and practicing routines! This year marks the 26th anniversary of the parade, produced by Hystopolis Productions and Erin Wilkinson, whose mother, Ginger Wilkinson, started the event. The actual parade begins at 10 pm and the event can draw more than 10,000 people!
Admission to the SDHC’s OUTDOOR event is $10 per person IN ADVANCE. All proceeds directly support the History Center. The event will be held rain or shine. Attendees can view the Pumpkin King parade puppet up close and pose for photographs before it comes to life to lead the parade. The SDHC will sell alcoholic beverages from Saugatuck Brewing Company and Fenn Valley Vineyards, sponsors for the event. At 8:00 PM the SDHC will host a costume contest with a $500 prize, sponsored by Lake Michigan Dermatology.
GENERAL ADMISSION TICKET – $10
New this year is a VIP experience featuring an INDOOR reception space in the historic History Center building. VIP tickets are $75 per person and include champagne and a specialty cocktail, catered small bites, and indoor restroom access.
