Bring your blankets and chairs and enjoy a screening of Grease. Produced in 1978, it stars John Travolta and Olivia Newton-John. This PG-rated film overflows with singing, dancing and nostalgic fun!
Paramount Pictures, the Hollywood studio that produced the film, was acquired by multinational conglomerate Gulf and Western, which also owned Chase Manufacturing in Douglas.
GVSU Artist in Residence Kate Levy hosts the screening, which is designed to evoke memories and kindle conversations about this period in the history of Douglas and Saugatuck.
Doors open at 8:30, screening begins at 9:00 pm. Beer, wine, and other concessions will be available for purchase. All proceeds will benefit the Saugatuck-Douglas History Center.
