About the Event

Saugatuck Womans Club drawingDesigned by Chicago architect Thomas Eddy Tallmadge, the Womans Club building was completed in 1938. The auditorium’s Colonial Revival style draws upon Tallmadge’s connections with John Rockefeller’s restoration work at Colonial Williamsburg. The Womans Club is one of Saugatuck’s oldest organizations; it was established in 1904. Attendees at this event can learn about the history of the building, the club, and its notable Lakeshore art collection.

The History Center’s “On Location” series invites attendees to gather in unique spaces and places for an exclusive view of the area’s historical richness. This evening series pairs wine and refreshments with an informal and engaging history tour. Join us on select Thursdays this spring to (re)discover historic cottages, businesses, and institutions across the Lakeshore area.
