About the Event
Get your hands on history and help us clean our Francis Metallic Surfboat, the Gallinipper! Listed on the National Register of Historic Places and as a Michigan Historical Site, the Gallinipper is the last surviving Francis Metallic Surfboat in the United States. Help us continue preserving history by volunteering to clean both the Gallinipper and its Boat Barn.
Volunteers should wear clothing they don’t mind getting dirty! We’ll sweep, scrub, and mop until the Boat Barn looks perfect!
To thank you for volunteering, we will provide lunch and refreshments.

The Boat Barn is located behind the History Center in Downtown Douglas. Free street parking is available.
