In the introduction Peggy recounts a tale from "the days of Singapore" of the Minister's Path, a trail worn by a preacher who delivered a morning sermon at the Riverside Inn (Ox-Bow Inn) and then rode to Shorewood on horseback to deliver a second sermon. The trail was said to be marked by the Presbyterian Camp and "starts just before you reach the Oval Beach. It meanders through the deep woods to the south side of Mt. Baldhead and emerges on Park Street"
