undated* clipping from the Commercial Record dating the photo to 1912; BUTLER STREET IN 1912-Saugatuck today is a far cry from 1912 when this picture was taken. It used to be quite o spectacle when the townspeople gathered on the Main Street in their horse and buggy conveyances or with sleighs and cutters in the winter, as shown in the photo. The entire main street is undergoing a face-lifting with the building of a new bank and the remodeling of the entire corner drug store which faces the new bank's entrance. Other shops in the block have also remodeled store fronts or completely remodeled in the Early American motif. *Possibly printed in 1961 since the back of the clipping has an ad celebrating the
