Two ecological surveys produced by the Outdoor Discover Center about a 169-acre parcel of land often referred to as the "Former Airport Property"
Survey work for the ecological evaluation began on June 2, 2023 and continued through July 31, 2023. The reports were created for the City of Saugatuck.
Ecological Evaluation of "Former Airport Property" - 10 pages, printed on both sides, includes ecological site descriptions, lists of species observed, threats and opportunities, site photos and maps.
Sustainability Evaluation of "Former Airport Property" - 3 pages, printed on both sides, focuses on the existing forest canopy's carbon sequestration value and the site's future potential for an EV charging station, solar power generating operation or municipal compositing site.
